Hours: Daily noon-midnight, however upstairs may close between lunch and dinner

Telephone #: 295 333 251

Cuisine: Downstairs is a bar with snack foods; Upstairs is traditional Portuguese

Brought to the table: Bread, Cheeses, Herbed Butter, Olives, Sausage

English Speaking Staff: Yes

English Menu: Yes

Seating:  Upstairs for more formal dining, with indoor and outdoor options; Downstairs for the bar

Fantastic food, fantastic view and the service is good too.  The decor is perfect for the location in the marina.  The variety of starters provides many options while waiting for your meal.  Here, the fresh bread served as large rolls is delicious and a welcomed change from the bread typically seen in restaurants.  Most entrees are either beef, fish or seafood.  There is a vegetarian option on the menu.  Make sure to try the homaemade potato chips.

Take your time, there’s no rush when you are able to sit and enjoy the view of the Angra marina.  It is worth it to enjoy a bottle of wine with your meal.  Downstairs you can enjoy a variety of nice beers and snack foods.

Dinner service starts at 7 pm. They also have live music from time to time (probably just weekends) in a room adjacent to the downstairs bar area.

We tried to go here a few weeks ago and it appeared to be closed. It was totally empty and even all the logo signs for the restaurant name were gone. I would have thought it was just closed for the winter if not for all the logo signs being removed. We didnt’ actually go up to the door to see if there was a sign or anything.

That is so weird. I am investigating this now and looking on their FB page they have stuff going on for New Years. It was posted Dec 15, and the most recent post they have is from 15 hours ago…which leads me to believe they are still open. Weird! I will also post their FB page.

Actually, this is for their bar page, which is downstairs in the same building as the restaurant.

Darn it, I was confused, I think!! I think I’m thinking of Aqua Emotion, darn it! Sorry! I will investigate for sure next time I am down there. I’m sure Pipas is still open if they’re currently posting on FB.

I just read on your AquaEmotion place that they appear closed in winter, so that must be it. You can delete all my comments on this one if you want!!

Seriously, it is not just you. The first time we tried to eat here we wound up at Casa de Peixe. We had to call them and have them explain where they were located. It is seriously not an easy place to find if you don’t know where it is. To get there just take the Via Rapida all the way, go past the bull arena, and then all the way down the very end where lots of people are fishing, and you are looking back over Angra (looking directly back at that new hotel they are building). It’s at the far end on a strip of bars. Aqua Emotion is good too and I love sitting outside there in the summer and having a light lunch. But as best as we could tell, they aren’t open in the winter, which it seems like you confirmed.
