Name: Arriba

Location: Praia da Vitoria, above Tropical Point

Telephone #: 295 542 499

Hours: Daily from 6 pm-2 am

Cuisine: Mexican

Brought to the table: chips and salsa

English Speaking Staff: Yes

Seating: Appears the entire place is a smoking establishment; mutliple tables along the window overlooking the marina

As this is the only real option for Mexican food, other than a home cooked meal, this place offers decent food.  Obviously there is better Mexican food out there, but Arriba does a nice job of offering flavorful food in the Mexican tradition right here on the island.  There are some slight differences between what American Mexican would be like and the choices offered here.  Once, a local had said this is more of a place for people to go and grab drinks and small snacks.  They do have meal items on the menu, and many are good choices if you are in the mood for Mexican.  It has a fun atmposphere and you can get a margarita to sip while enjoying an ocean view.

I love Mexican food. That’s great that you are able to go out for some decent Mexican on the island!

Great lemon margaritas! Their Mexican food is a joke.

It’s one of those places that gets mixed reviews. Some people like the food and others don’t find it quite the same as the American version.
