This may seem like it is off the beaten path, but it is actually easy to find.  If you head down the via rapida towards Angra, when you enter the circle with the Toyota dealership, continue past Toyota and make the next right (map above).  When you get to a fork in the road, head to the right.  Go a little further down this road and on the left you will see a free standing building, a peachy color, with a large whale coming out of the building.  You can’t miss it.

It will be worth the trip to enjoy a meal here.  Great fish options, as well as steak.  If there is a fresh fish in the case at the front, choose this.  The owner will prepare it for you himself, if he is there.  Come with a big appetite because once you sit down, the food will keep coming.  Order a bottle of wine, the list is extensive with many reds and whites to choose from, along with Vinho Verde (green wine).  They offer local wines, as well as those from the mainland.

For dessert, they are most well known for the flamed pineapple along with the fried ice cream.  Do not expect the fried ice cream to be the same as back in the States, but it is still good.  The pineapple is amazing.  If you like fruit, also consider the fondue.

Just be careful when you sit down as the chairs have wheels.  It is nice to sit in the new room with windows all around, but do not be surprised if you find some bugs flying around.

I found it really hard to eat in Singapore and Malaysia thanks to all the flies in the restaurants. But apparently nobody had an issue with this other than me.

Everything looks so fresh and delicious! I can’t imagine how much I would eat if I lived there Melinda.

I was smitten right after I heard bread and butter. 🙂

This place also has a frequent eater card, or whatever one would call it, where every time you eat here, they mark off a square and you get the 10th (or maybe it’s 11th) meal free. 🙂
