Sabores do Chef

July 10, 2010
tags: ,

Name: Sabores do Chef

Location: Near the base, on the way to Praia

Hours: noon-2:30 pm and 6-10 pm, closed Tuesdays in Winter only

Reservations: Not required, but recommended, especially for weekend dinner after 7 pm

Cuisine: Traditional Portuguese with an upscale appearance

English Speaking Staff: Yes

English Menu: Yes

Brought to the table: bread, herbed butters, goat cheese with jam, sausage, may also get plate of olives with goat cheese

The food here is excellent, although some people have commented that they do not like it.  Great for special occasions or a nice night out.  As this is slightly more upscale than some other locations, do not be surprised by the prices.  Although not much more expensive than many other options on the island, you will find that the extra cost is worth it for the good food.  If you like lobster, you MUST try the grilled lobster tail.  For a price just uner $30 US, it is better than most pricey lobster back in the States.  I also recommend the grilled wreckfish.  Don’t forget to save room for dessert.
