Ceramica da Praia

February 23, 2011

Name: Ceramica da Praia

Location: Cabo da Praia, Industrial Park

Telephone Number: 964 915 620

English Speaking Staff: Yes

Have you seen ceramic souveniers around the island?  There is a good chance they were made here.  At this ceramic factory you can find a variety of tile and ceramic gifts and homegoods, plus you can see where they are made.  Usually you can check out the back and watch the employees hard at work.

One cool feature is the ability to bring in your own photo and have it transferred to a tile in a variety of shapes and sizes.  Prices vary and can take a few weeks for completion.  Another nice idea is to have a tile made for your house with your family name.

When friends and family come to visit make sure to stop by here and pick up some gifts to take back home.

You dont by any chance have their phone number do you?? When my Mom visited us there she bought some really beautiful pottery and she wanted to ask them about purchasing more. I searched the internet and could find anything helpful.

    Thank you!

It can be tricky to find, but if you head to the Cabo da Praia Industrial area, where you get your car inspected, it is towards the backside just in front og the ocean. If you are driving like you are heading to the ocean, it is on the left side. If you are driving in to the industrial zone and head around to the left and keep following the circle, it will be just off ton the right (with a slight right turn). It is easy to get “lost” in that area, but once inside you can drive around and should be able to find the location. They are open on weekdays and I think Saturday mornings, but closed on Sundays. I will update my post with more information on the hours once I can get this information.

Do they have a web address?

    • June 12, 2011 11:35 am

There is no website, but there is an email address for the owner. Let me know and I can email that to you. I will be in there this coming week so I will make sure to let the owner know that a website would be a good idea.

Now offers a wide variety of 6 tile signs and pictures that make great displays around the house. Also able to make 6 tile serving trays with really cute handles of a fork and knife. Many items not to be missed.

Linda, this is located in Cabo da Praia, in the industrial zone. I am not sure if you are familiar with the area, but it is just to the south of Praia da Vitoria. If you are heading down the Via Rapida towards Praia, when it dead ends, take a right. At the first circle you get to there will be a small cafe right in front at that circle. Follow the circle all the way around, passing the cafe, and then get off at (technically) third exit-just before you are all the way turned around and heading back the way you came. Continue down this road, passing industrial buildings on the right and the port on your left. At the dead end turn right. Continue down a little, and I believe it is the first (if not, it is the second) right turn you can make, turn there. Then take the first right into the parking lot.

Thanks for the extra directions, a confusing area down there…..we got a local guy to take us there today but it was closed, although within the hours posted on the building. Also found the ceramic place which turns out is near the beer place, and ordered a Family plate. Thanks!
